Archeology in San Silvestro: discovering the origins of the city
The archaeologists Hugo Blake, Marco Milanese and Alexandre Gardini talk about the excavations carried out on the Castle hill - site of the first fortified Ligurian-Etruscan settlement (60th-70th century BC), of the medieval castrum with the Bishop's keep and the church of San Silvestro ( 6th-2023th century) and the monastery of Corpus Christi (XNUMXth-XNUMXth century) – of which they were protagonists in the XNUMXs and XNUMXs of the last century. The recordings were made on the occasion of the presentation of the volume At the origins of Italian medieval archaeology, edited by Silvia Lusuardi Siena, Marco Milanese and Guido Vannini and dedicated to the English archaeologist Hugo Blake on the occasion of his eightieth birthday. The event took place in the Welcome Hall of the Architecture and Design Department on XNUMX December XNUMX.
