The publisher All’Insegna del Giglio, founded in 1976, had as its initial program the reprinting of historical sources and the faithful re-proposal of texts concerning the minor arts in the Renaissance period. The meeting with Riccardo Francovich, and the agreement for the edition of the journal "Medieval Archeology", offer the opportunity to specialize in medieval archaeological publishing. In collaboration with the major medieval archaeologists (Italian and foreign), it has therefore encouraged the creation of journals and series concerning the publication of excavation reports, field research methodologies, conference proceedings, etc., then extending the scope of publications to other fields of archeology. While archeology remains the main subject for its publications, the publisher has in its catalog works from history, archival, architecture and other disciplines.

Another prize, established by SAMI since 2013, dedicated to the memory of Riccardo Francovich, is related to scientific dissemination in the archaeological field intended for a non-specialist public (personalities and museums or archaeological parks are awarded).
