It contains the proceedings of the international conference 'Quantitative Methods for the Challenges in 21st Century Archeology', Proceedings of the Annual Meeting of the UISPP 4th (Budapest, Hungarian National Museum, 5-6 June 2009), edited by KT Biro.
A first series of reports concern: the computerized cataloging of the archaeological museums of Lazio; the creation of a website for museums; the computerization of data on Roman Lucca (GIS, 3D models, website); the Archaeological Map of the cultural heritage of Puglia; the geodatabase of reused materials of the city walls of Hierapolis (Phrygia); the use of satellite and airborne laser scanners to investigate a medieval village in Basilicata (Yrsum); three-dimensional modeling of Monte San Martino (Trentino).
The part relating to the studies on the settlements concern the territory of Tolfa and Pompeii.
One contribution concerns the study of an amphora from the Venice Lagoon and an article is dedicated to mathematical analysis applied to archeology.
The book dedicated to reviews closes the volume.
