Technical Information

In volume 31.2 the Proceedings of two International Conferences are published. The first, "International Milan: the territorial fragility of archaeological contexts" (Milan, 13 March 2019), promoted by the Department of Cultural and Environmental Heritage of the University of Milan and by the Department of Architecture and Urban Studies of the Milan Polytechnic, is curated by G. Bagnasco Gianni, S. Bortolotto, A. Garzulino and M. Marzullo. The second, “Logic and computing. The underlying basis of digital archeology ”, is a special session of the IMEKO TC-4 International Conference on Metrology for Archeology and Cultural Heritage (MetroArchaeo, Florence, 4-6 December 2019), curated by A. Caravale and P. Moscati. The Proceedings collect respectively 9 and 15 contributions, introduced by the editors who illustrate the aims and results of the research presented, in which the use of information technologies is crucial for the analysis, interpretation and dissemination and exploitation of data. The diachronic perspective of the session dedicated to calculus and logic in the history of archaeological informatics allows us to connect, through a theoretical-methodological bridge, the first experiences of computerization of archaeological data with the most recent trends in digital archeology.
