Description

Volume 33.2 opens with a contribution by Valeria Della Valle and Paola Moscati in memory of Giovanni Adamo one year after his death, which retraces the scholar's interdisciplinary itinerary between terminology, lexicology and humanistic computer science. This is followed by 16 articles proposed to the journal by Italian and foreign scholars who illustrate the application of information technologies to archaeological research in the phases of data acquisition, processing and interpretation. Statistical analysis techniques (Procrustes Analysis, dimensionality reduction algorithms, cluster analysis for remote sensing), GIS and spatial analysis for the study of the territory and ancient cities and to recreate the diffusion of sound in antiquity, three-dimensional survey techniques and virtual reconstructions, multimedia systems, Artificial Intelligence systems and new solutions for digital archaeological publishing contribute to document the testimonies of the past and to disseminate the results of scientific research. The section dedicated to Notes and Reviews closes the volume.
