Review of the volume in "Archeo" May 2014: Archeomusei review
Italian archaeological museology, thanks also to the pioneering work of Franco Minissi and the deep-rooted synergy between architects and archaeologists, experienced a period of extraordinary development in the second half of the 900th century, as witnessed by some of the most important European archaeological museums. With the new millennium, this experimental phase has resulted in a broad renewal of the Italian archaeological museum panorama. Some examples, which represent the current state of the art, have been selected for the 2012 Adria Conference among the proposals of all the Italian archaeological superintendents. These case studies are illustrated according to a rigorous analytical scheme and accompanied by synthetic descriptive cards.
