Technical Information
The volume focuses on a particularly delicate period for southern Italy, and specifically for the Salerno area. The research framework is based on the overall structure of the mints of southern Italy which from time to time assumed greater or lesser importance on the basis of local policies developed by the central power and in particular for the phase of the Angevin kingdom. In this phase Salerno saw its wealth decline, obscured by nearby Naples and by the alternating events of the territory. This work, in bringing new data and reflections on a difficult period for the populations of the South, allows us to better understand the conditions in which they found themselves in the transition from the Middle Ages to Modernity.
