Technical Information
The author uses written and archaeological sources to retrace the events of one of the most important monasteries of early medieval Italy: S. Colombano di Bobbio. The archaeological analysis focuses mainly on the finds preserved in the monastery, and in particular sculptures, epigraphs and other materials of extreme interest. A detailed review of the Roman and medieval finds carried out in the surrounding area also allows an illuminating contextualization of a topographical character.
