Description

The authors tackle the problem of the Arezzo clay production which, for a long time, was substantially ignored by historians of the 'minor arts' and post-classical archaeologists (Funghini's study dates back to the last century). In spite of this, a rich array of finds testifies that in the Arezzo area, especially in the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries, the art of ceramics was alive and qualified, an art that, without interruption, can be traced back to the Roman era. The rich collection of the Museum of Arezzo has allowed the authors to finally reach an organic reading and a first critical interpretation of the materials. This volume collects the results of their work in its entirety.
