Until the publication of this work, the necropolis of the Emilian terramare (1650-1150 BC) were little known, especially in comparison with the considerable amount of known settlements. The publication of the excavations carried out in the Casinalbo burial ground largely fills this gap. The first of the two volumes that make up the work is dedicated to the research and excavations carried out in the necropolis starting from 1880, and with particular regard to the research carried out between 1994 and 2009 which brought to light several hundred burials (chap. 1 ). The catalog of the tombs follows with the graphic edition of each tomb, the relative plans and sections and the analysis of human remains (chap. 2). The second volume includes the typological classification (chap. 3), extended to all the Emilian, Venetian and eastern Lombardy necropolises, the chronology (chap. 4), which made it possible to place the necropolis between the BM2B / 3 A and the BR2 (ca. 1450 -1150 BC), the anthropological analysis (chap. 5), the integration of archaeological and anthropological data and the consequent commentary on the distributive and "social" evidence (chap. 6), the pedostratigraphic sequence, the research archaeobotanical, archaeozoological, the petrographic study of the pebbles, the archaeometric analyzes of the ceramics and two notes concerning the golden disc of the Bronze Age from Casinalbo and the restoration of the urns (chapters 7-13). The second volume concludes with the chapter of the concluding remarks, also published in English (chap. 14).
