Technical Information

The lines of this book are intended to trace a profile of the influence that the Maconi family has exercised on the city through the study and reconstructions of the architectures it owns. The Maconi family is, in fact, one of the Sienese families that well represents the history of Siena. Many are, as we will see, the members of the family mentioned in the documents that have contributed to the political, economic and social life of the center. The late medieval period was therefore influenced by the presence of the Maconi family and traces of this relationship can still be found within the walls of the tower and the palace analyzed in this volume and formerly belonging to the family. Thanks to this research it is now possible to make their historical presence physical, this is because such a study allows us, thanks to an in-depth analysis of the buildings, to the analysis of the archive documentation, to inspections in the underground environments underlying the structures, to the massive use of 3D modeling and a series of graphic reconstructions, to give substance to the properties of this little-known family.
