The fortuitous discovery of some finds has given rise, starting from 2006, to a series of excavation campaigns in the Montegibbio sauce which have made it possible to identify the presence of remains of buildings, referable to a sanctuary dedicated to Minerva, to a probable rustic urban villa and productive agricultural structures, dating from the early Romanization period to late antiquity. The attention of scholars has focused in particular on the phenomena of collapse of buildings, probably attributable to telluric phenomena. The results of the investigations carried out were discussed in the Conference, the proceedings of which are published; among the topics dealt with, the geology of the excavation area and some aspects of archeoseismology assume particular importance.
