First volume of the series dedicated to Populonia. The contributions contained herein correspond to the papers presented during five seminars held at the Department of Archeology of the University of Siena in the academic year 2000/2001. The topics of the texts concern the details of the excavations but also the relationship between the monument and its environment, to the point of involving broad and comprehensive themes. As the first volume of the series, the treatment relating to the Populonia acropolis is very thorough, illustrating the first conclusions on this more recent excavation.
