Description

The volume illustrates the recent archaeological excavations, between 2007 and 2009 of the important city of Spina. It represented a gateway from the Po Etruria to Greece and the East, a cosmopolitan city between the Po and the Adriatic, a meeting point for men and goods. All this was Spina, the Etruscan port city built in the last decades of the XNUMXth century BC at the confluence of an Apennine river and a branch of the Po, a short distance from the sea. The materials found during the excavation campaigns are published here, from ceramics (which are given great prominence), to metals, to coroplastics, as well as archaeozoology and archaeobotanical analyzes for the reconstruction of the ancient landscape.
